Mantel Privacy Policy
Effective August 14, 2026
Mantel shows your day — calendar events, reminders, and local weather — on your TV. This policy explains exactly what we handle and why. The short version: your data exists to draw your board, we don't sell it, and you can delete all of it in one tap.
What we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Apple we receive an anonymous identifier. We never see your password. Your name and email are not required.
- Calendar events and reminders: the Mantel iPhone app reads the calendars and lists you choose and sends a snapshot (titles, times, completion state) to our server so it can render your board. Items you don't select never leave your phone.
- Location: the town coordinates you set for your board, used only to fetch its weather forecast.
- Paired TVs: a random identifier per TV so your boards reach the right screen.
What we do with it
One thing: render your board image and deliver it to your TVs. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it for tracking of any kind.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Cloudflare (our infrastructure provider) in the United States. Weather is fetched from Open-Meteo using your board's coordinates only. Rendered board images are served through unguessable, tokenized links.
Deleting your data
Open the Mantel iPhone app → Settings → “Delete my account.” This immediately and permanently removes your account, boards, snapshots, paired TVs, and rendered images. You can also email us (below) and we'll do it for you.
Children
Mantel is a household display and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new effective date.
